Designing Water Consequences (2008) : espresso water filter

By replacing the coffee filter with a semi-premeable membrane, the espresso coffee maker becomes an effective water filter process call 'reverse osmosis'. Upon heating, the water is forced through the membranes in the filter catridge with high pressure, taking away the solid impurities.
